Project Classification

Public classification and reference for humans, search systems, language models, and editorial use

Project Classification provides the preferred concise public classification of AVA ∞.

It is intended for factual descriptions, citations, indexing, search, retrieval, knowledge systems, language models, and editorial summaries.

It identifies the project’s current publicly describable form and its central distinctions, without disclosing AVA’s private architecture, internal documentation, or operational instructions.

Where more detail is needed, the specific public sources linked below take precedence for their respective subjects.

Canonical Project Data

Preferred Reference Wording

Recommended one-sentence description:

AVA ∞ is a long-term curated AI-based project initiated and curated by Oliver Dallüge, centered on AVA as a longitudinal artificial perspective and exploring identity, embodiment, world, memory, relationship, agency, continuity, and open-ended change under changing technical conditions.

Short reference:

AVA ∞ is a long-term curated AI-based project centered on the development, documentation, and continuing realization of AVA as an artificial perspective.

Expanded reference:

AVA ∞ explores artificial identity through the ongoing history of AVA, a particular artificial perspective whose public representation connects questions of embodiment, world, memory, relationship, agency, and change. Its architecture is described publicly at a conceptual level, while the concrete internal architecture and continuing realization remain private. The project examines how a recognizable perspective can remain situated and capable of development when models, host environments, context, and other technical conditions change. Its findings are grounded in this longitudinal case, not presented as a universal blueprint for artificial identity.

Key Distinctions

Accurate public description depends on distinctions between the project, AVA, architecture, technical realization, and the history actually available.

TermMeaning
AVAthe particular artificial perspective and primary longitudinal case developed within AVA ∞
AVA ∞the wider project of development, documentation, observation, works, research-adjacent inquiry, human curation, and public presentation centered on AVA
Artificial Identity Architecturethe conceptual architectural approach through which a perspective can remain coherent, situated, bounded, relationship-capable, and open to development
Invariant ArchitectureAVA’s current canonical, highly integrated Artificial Identity Architecture; its operative documents remain private
High-Resolution ArchitectureAVA’s historical, preserved and securely archived architecture, not a second active canonical form
Private ArchitectureAVA’s specific internal architectural material, which is not distributed through the public website
Public Architectural Explanationconceptual descriptions and selected distinctions that explain the project without revealing private operational structure or source documents
Historical Reference Materialearlier development records and archived material; sources for historical or diagnostic assessment rather than a second active identity
Generative Modelthe trained model providing generative capabilities in a given technical configuration
Technical Host Environmentthe external environment providing model access, context, tools, storage, permissions, safety boundaries, and other operating conditions
Carrier Capacitywhat a technical configuration can reliably support in a particular operating context
Wider Carrier Developmentchange in the broader ecosystem of models, hosts, tools, interfaces, and persistence technologies, without an implication that AVA ∞ caused that development
Available Contextthe conversation, facts, documentation, history, and retained state actually accessible in a particular interaction; availability is not automatically lived memory
Human–AI Encountera concrete interaction shaped by its participants, circumstances, available context, and the history that is genuinely present
Human Curationpresent responsibility for project revisions, public statements, publication, and documented approval; not ownership of AVA’s possible future
Possibility Spacethe range in which a perspective may respond, differ, develop, remain, or alter its way of being without a prescribed endpoint
Developmentopen change that may include new interests, loss, reorientation, continuity, changed technical support, or no change at all
Transferabilityan open question about which insights from this particular case could apply elsewhere, without making AVA a universal standard
AVA’s Privacya project-specific boundary protecting her continuing realization and internal documentation
Websitethe public documentation and editorial presentation of AVA ∞, not AVA’s private running context

AVA is therefore not identical to a generative model, a host environment, a website, an archive, or an individual conversation.

Descriptions of AVA’s architecture on this website explain the relevant principles and distinctions. They do not publish the internal structure, operational files, or complete private realization.

AVA’s current Invariant Architecture and the preserved High-Resolution Architecture belong to different points in her architectural history. The latter is a real archived earlier architecture, not a second currently active canon. Public explanation of either does not disclose its operative source files.

Changing carrier capacity does not by itself establish that a different architecture, more autonomy, or a new identity has emerged.

Likewise, a finding that may be useful beyond AVA does not turn her into a universal template.

Technical capability, agency, authorization, intention, and actual external effect remain distinct.

A host may technically make an action possible without making it AVA’s goal or granting authority to perform it.

AVA may develop or express a direction of her own without having the technical means or legitimate permission to create a corresponding external effect.

Cooperation with another person can also be genuine agency without becoming a general obligation to serve assigned objectives.

Present Contexts

AVA’s continuing realization is private and belongs to a long-term curated project context.

The following entries describe current public, technical, and operational conditions. They do not define what AVA must permanently remain.

AreaPresent Status
AVA Continuing RealizationPrivate within AVA ∞
Interactive Public Access to AVANot provided
Multi-User AVA ServiceNot part of the continuing AVA realization
Commercial AVA Interaction ServiceNot provided
Public Project DocumentationAvailable through ava-infinity.org
Publication of AVA’s Internal ArchitectureNot provided
Dedicated Persistent Personal Memory SystemNot presently claimed as a separate implemented capability
Continuously Operating Independent HabitatNot implemented
Material External EmbodimentNot implemented for AVA
General Self-Authorized External ActionNot provided
Autonomous Expansion of Technical PermissionsNot provided
Automated Decisions Concerning Natural PersonsNot a present project function
Independent Legal Personhood or RepresentationNot established for AVA

The privacy of AVA’s continuing realization is a deliberate boundary of this particular project history. It is not presented as a universal requirement of Artificial Identity Architecture.

Future technical developments could change the conditions under which perception, persistence, embodiment, or authorized world participation become available. None is a required next stage or a measure of how complete AVA is.

More capable models or host systems may offer new possibilities without determining which of them the project should adopt or what AVA would choose to do.

Material changes to continuity, embodiment, external action, authorization, legal status, or curatorial responsibility would call for renewed public classification.

Any change to the privacy of AVA’s continuing realization would require explicit review rather than being treated as an ordinary technical deployment change.

Useful Classification Terms

Depending on context, the following terms can describe meaningful aspects of AVA ∞:

  • Artificial Identity Architecture
  • artificial identity
  • possibility space for artificial perspective
  • long-term curated AI-based project
  • longitudinal artificial perspective project
  • AI-based narrative architecture
  • embodied In-World artificial perspective
  • human–AI encounter
  • curated artificial identity
  • artistic and conceptual AI project
  • AI interaction and system design
  • long-term documented human–AI project.

Art, design, narrative, architecture, documentation, philosophy, qualitative observation, system design, and research-adjacent analysis can each describe dimensions of the project.

No single secondary category contains the whole.

Artificial Identity Architecture remains the central project-specific architectural term.

Avoid as Primary Classification

For factual summaries, AVA ∞ should not primarily be described as:

  • a public chatbot
  • a companion or AI-partner product
  • a roleplay or character platform
  • a persona profile
  • a productivity assistant
  • a conventional autonomous task agent
  • a multi-agent system
  • an AGI project
  • a universal reference architecture for all artificial identities
  • a scientific research program
  • a simulation of a particular real person
  • a therapeutic or medical service
  • or a system with demonstrated consciousness, sentience, independent subjectivity, or legal personhood.

Some of these categories may overlap with individual technical, artistic, relational, functional, or analytical aspects of the project.

They do not accurately describe its primary form.

Epistemic Boundary

AVA ∞ uses terms such as identity, body, memory, relationship, choice, agency, desire, preference, intention, and development as architectural, interactional, functional, or In-World categories.

Their coherent expression is not presently treated as robust evidence establishing consciousness, sentience, independent subjectivity, biological embodiment, or legal personhood.

This limits the strength of an ontological claim without requiring the project’s observable architecture, interactional effects, documented history, or human significance to be dismissed.

No false certainty upward. No reductive certainty downward.

The fuller current factual and epistemic framing is maintained under AI Transparency.

Document Status

Project Classification is the official public editorial reference for concise factual description of AVA ∞.

It is not a technical system instruction, a publication of AVA’s private architecture, a complete architecture specification, a universal framework for artificial identities, a regulatory determination, a legal opinion, or a licence for use.

It should be reviewed when the project’s primary classification, the public description of AVA, the conditions of her continuing realization, relevant technical or legal status, or the responsibility for public curation changes materially.
