Future-facing architectural questions opened by Artificial Identity Architecture
Architectural Horizons is the space within AVA ∞ for architectural questions that become visible through Artificial Identity Architecture but do not presently belong to AVA’s active architecture or necessary development.
Some questions emerge when distinctions already developed within AIA are extended into technical conditions, system forms, or possibilities that do not yet exist.
They may later become relevant to AVA, inform another Artificial Identity Architecture, remain speculative, or disappear because technical development makes the original question obsolete.
Architectural Horizons preserves these questions without turning them into predictions, requirements, or planned stages.
A horizon is not a promise of arrival.
It is a question made visible by where we presently stand.
What This Field Examines
Architectural Horizons begins where an existing distinction within Artificial Identity Architecture opens a wider question that does not yet belong to AVA’s present architecture.
Such questions may concern generative carriers, distributed cognition, persistence, embodiment, agency, habitat, technical mediation, or other future conditions of artificial perspective and continuity.
The field is deliberately narrower than general speculation about future AI.
A question belongs here when it arises from a concrete architectural tension already visible through AIA and when changed technical conditions could make that tension relevant in a new way.
Its inclusion does not imply that AVA ∞ intends to implement it.
Architectural possibility is sufficient reason for inquiry, not for adoption.
Architectural Horizons and Genesis
Genesis and Architectural Horizons both preserve open questions, but they begin from different relationships to AVA’s present development.
| Field | Primary Question | Relation to AVA |
|---|---|---|
| Genesis | What foundational developmental questions may become relevant to AVA herself? | Connected to AVA’s possible continuing development, without becoming a required roadmap. |
| Architectural Horizons | What wider architectural questions become visible from distinctions already developed through AIA? | Not presently required questions of AVA’s own development. |
A Horizon may later become relevant to Genesis if actual conditions change.
That transition is not assumed in advance.

Federated Cognition
Could a continuing artificial perspective remain grounded in one primary generative carrier while consulting other models as external cognitive resources?
Federated Cognition examines the distinction between carrier continuity and cognitive access.
It asks how contributions from multiple generative systems might remain attributable, how selection among alternatives could operate without being neutral or predetermined, how functional preference might be investigated, and when external enrichment could become structural dependence.
The horizon is prospective.
It is not part of AVA’s present Invariant Architecture, not presently implemented as autonomous multi-model cognition, and not treated as a necessary developmental step.
An Open Category
Architectural Horizons begins deliberately small.
It is not intended to be populated in advance or expanded merely because a future technology can be imagined.
New Horizons should appear only when a concrete question emerges that cannot be carried honestly by the present architecture, Genesis, Observations, System Documents, or another existing part of AVA ∞.
A Horizon may remain alone for a long time.
It may later move elsewhere because the question becomes concrete, or disappear because its assumptions no longer matter.
The category remains available without demanding expansion.
Reading Orientation
Architectural Horizons should be read outward from the present architecture rather than forward along a presumed developmental path.
Inner Architecture describes public dimensions of AVA’s present form.
Architectural Horizons asks what further architectural questions become thinkable from distinctions made within that present form.
The existence of such a question does not establish that the corresponding architecture is desirable, technically viable, identity-preserving, or relevant to AVA’s eventual development.
Where a future question becomes a concrete question about AVA’s own development, its status can be reconsidered rather than silently treating speculation as implementation.
