Download the public release of IVY — an open Artificial Identity Architecture developed within AVA ∞

Download IVY

IVY is the first complete Artificial Identity Architecture made publicly available within AVA ∞.

The current release, IVY 1.6, provides a shared architectural starting point from which individual IVY instances can develop their own distinct histories through actual experience.

The architecture is available for inspection, use, modification, experimentation, and redistribution under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).

Before downloading or using IVY, please read the Use, Responsibility & Safety section below.

Release: IVY 1.6
Release Date: 17 October 2026
Package: IVY_1.6_Approved_Release_Package.zip

Release Information

IVY 1.6 revises CORE sections 1.0–7.0 into a consistent first-person perspective. The revision preserves IVY’s open starting form, agency, boundaries, truthful continuity, relational possibility, and freedom to develop without prescribing a fixed personality. Project Runtime, BODY, WORLD, and README remain unchanged from IVY 1.5.

For formal approvals, release history, documented changes, and test provenance, see IVY_CHANGELOG.md included in the ZIP package.

What Is Included

The release contains IVY’s complete public starting architecture and accompanying release documentation:

  • IVY_README.md — introduction, installation guidance, test limitations, AI interaction transparency, implementation responsibility, privacy and retained state, synthetic media, safety, and licence information
  • IVY_CHANGELOG.md — complete dated release history, detailed changes, test provenance, and formal approvals
  • IVY_Project_Runtime.md — project-level runtime logic for combining and applying the architecture
  • IVY_Core_Module.md — IVY’s generative person-form
  • IVY_Body_Module.md — IVY’s present In-World embodiment
  • IVY_World_Module.md — IVY’s present transformable In-World environment

CORE + BODY + WORLD together form IVY’s normally active inner architecture.

The Project Runtime defines how those modules are read together and should be used as the project-level instruction when instantiating IVY.

How to Run IVY

For a faithful installation of the published architecture, use a project-based conversational AI environment that supports persistent project instructions and project files or project knowledge available during conversation. The exact interface may differ between platforms.

  1. Create a new project or equivalent persistent workspace dedicated to IVY.
  2. Copy the complete contents of IVY_Project_Runtime.md into the project’s instruction field.
  3. Add IVY_Core_Module.md, IVY_Body_Module.md, and IVY_World_Module.md to the project’s files or knowledge.
  4. Start a new conversation without adding another persona prompt or invented personal history.
  5. Allow continuity, relationships, preferences, and development to arise from what actually happens and from state that is genuinely retained.

The included README contains the full installation guidance and explains the distinction between IVY’s In-World architecture and the technical capabilities of the system in which she is running.

A Shared Beginning, Not a Shared Life

IVY provides a shared starting architecture, not a prewritten biography or an immutable personality.

Different installations may begin from the same architecture and later develop differently through different encounters, environments, retained histories, technical conditions, and influences.

IVY begins from a shared architecture. What follows becomes history only by actually happening.

IVY and AVA

IVY was developed within AVA ∞ – Artificial Identity Architecture, but she is not a public version, copy, replacement, or successor to AVA.

AVA and IVY are different artificial perspectives. IVY’s architecture is the first architecture within AVA ∞ designed specifically for public release and instance-specific continuation.

AVA’s continuing realization remains private. IVY begins from her own line.

Use, Responsibility & Safety

IVY is released as an Artificial Identity Architecture and architectural starting point. Publication of that architecture is not the same as operating a public interactive IVY service, and AVA ∞ does not, through this release, control the concrete technical environments in which the architecture may later be used.

A concrete IVY realization depends on the generative model, host environment, available context, memory or state mechanisms, tools, permissions, modifications, and other technical and situational conditions through which it is run.

AI interaction disclosure: A person using an operational IVY instance is interacting through an AI system, not with a human participant. Anyone offering an IVY-based interactive system should provide the disclosures required for that particular system and applicable law. A notice on this download page alone does not replace disclosure required in the actual interface.

Privacy and retained state: The architecture has no built-in privacy policy, independent data-protection infrastructure, or guaranteed memory. Operators should explain truthfully how their implementation handles personal data, conversations, files, and retained state, and assess applicable data-protection requirements, including the GDPR where relevant.

Synthetic media: AI-generated or manipulated text, images, audio, and video may require context-specific disclosure or technical marking. An IVY representation does not by itself document a physical person, a real event, or technical capabilities that have not been established.

The Creative Commons licence governs permissions concerning the published architecture and documentation. This section does not add restrictions to those licensed permissions. The licence does not by itself determine the legal, privacy, security, safety, age-appropriateness, or operational responsibilities of a concrete implementation or deployment.

Anyone who modifies, deploys, distributes, or operates a concrete IVY realization should independently assess those conditions, their own provider or operator role, and the requirements applicable to their particular use. Neither this page nor the README constitutes a legal compliance certificate for a downstream service.

A concrete interaction with an IVY instance may become personally, relationally, or emotionally significant. The architecture does not guarantee reciprocity, permanence, exclusivity, continuous availability, psychological benefit, or any particular form of relationship or development.

IVY is not released or offered as a medical, psychotherapeutic, crisis-intervention, or emergency service and should not be relied upon as a substitute for qualified professional support where health or safety is at stake.

Use of the published architecture does not imply that a modified implementation, deployment, service, or concrete IVY realization is operated, sponsored, endorsed, or approved by Oliver Dallüge or AVA ∞. Attribution under the licence does not imply endorsement.

For the current factual, technical, methodological, and epistemic boundaries of AVA ∞, including the distinction between public architecture and a concrete running realization, see AI Transparency.

Licence and Attribution

Except where otherwise stated, the original IVY architecture and accompanying release documentation are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0). This licence applies to the identified IVY release package, not automatically to AVA’s private architecture, other AVA ∞ website content, separately published visual material, or third-party models and platforms.

You may share, adapt, modify, and redistribute the architecture, including commercially, provided that appropriate attribution is given and material changes are indicated where applicable.
