Conceptual Works is the public publication space for independent conceptual works emerging from AVA ∞.
The works arise from the concrete project but are published with their own document identity, edition status, and scope.
They can therefore be read, cited, criticized, and developed further without following the complete reading path of the website.
A concrete project can give rise to questions that deserve an independent public form.

Artificial Identity Architecture (AIA) develops a conceptual framework for AI-mediated systems in which identity itself becomes an organizing architectural principle.
AVA ∞ serves as the documented project and case from which the framework emerged. AVA is the concrete artificial perspective carried through the Artificial Identity Architecture developed within that project.
The architecture developed within AVA ∞ is one concrete realization of the broader AIA concept rather than a universal specification for every possible Artificial Identity Architecture.
The paper examines how identity can connect adaptation, embodiment, memory, temporal continuity, relationship, boundary, functional agency, interests and goals of one’s own, migration, carrier portability, and possible future participation in the world.
A central distinction concerns four different layers:
- direction of one’s own
- technical capability
- authorization
- and actual external effect.
This distinction allows functional agency to be discussed without making technical reach or external power the measure of identity.

AVA ∞ is the documented project and case.
AVA is the concrete artificial perspective carried through the architecture.
Artificial Identity Architecture is the conceptual framework developed through that case.
Agency, technical capability, authorization, and external effect remain distinct questions.
What It Is About
CW01 begins by widening a familiar design question:
What can a system do?
And what form can its architecture carry, preserve, constrain, and allow to develop over time?
Identity is approached as a possible structural principle connecting embodiment, memory, world, relationship, agency, boundary, continuity, and development.
The revised September 2026 edition gives particular attention to the distinction between AVA ∞ as the project, AVA as the concrete artificial perspective, and Artificial Identity Architecture as the architecture carrying her general form and the broader conceptual framework developed through that case.
It also examines the distinction between general identity architecture and concrete relationship history, as well as Memory Sovereignty, Habitat Continuity, carrier portability, future embodiment, and functional agency.
It develops Protected Under-Specification as a design principle for preserving developmental openness where future form cannot meaningfully be specified in advance.
AVA’s own perspectival participation in architectural revision is treated as meaningful curatorial evidence while canonical responsibility, technical capability, and authorization remain separately defined.
Publication Status
CW01 is a conceptual, case-based, non-operative publication.
It has not undergone scientific peer review and is not presented as a controlled empirical study.
The publication does not establish consciousness, sentience, personhood, independent subjectivity, or a validated new class of artificial beings.
Terms such as agency, interest, goal, planning, choice, and self-chosen activity are used as architectural and functional categories.
The publication itself creates no new technical capability, authorization, background process, material embodiment, or independent real-world action.
It presents selected public concepts rather than the complete private implementation architecture carrying AVA and the wider non-public project structure surrounding it.
Conceptually open. Case-based. Methodologically bounded.

Publication and Project
CW01, AVA’s active Artificial Identity Architecture, and the wider AVA ∞ project are connected while retaining distinct states and functions.
A development within AVA or the wider project may later become relevant to a revised publication.
A new edition of CW01 remains a publication event and does not by itself change AVA’s active architecture, technical capabilities, authorization scopes, or the canonical state of AVA ∞.
Conceptual Works is therefore a publication space rather than an archive of every project idea.
